Part I: Recover Data from iOS Device Directly

Step 1: Connect iOS Device with Computer

At first, there is a need to launch dr.fone toolkit on your computer. Now use the USB cable that comes with your iOS device so that you can connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, to your computer. Now click on "Data Recovery" and select "Recover from iOS Device" option.



Tips: Before you run dr.fone, you're supposed to download the latest version of iTunes. In order to avoid the automatically sync, don't launch iTunes when dr.fone toolkit is running. It is suggested that you disable the automatical syncing in iTunes beforehand. For this, you have to launch iTunes > Preferences > Devices, check “Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically”.



Step 2: Scan Your Device for Lost Data on It

Now simply click the "Start Scan" button to start this program scan your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to scan for lost or deleted data. The scanning process may last a few minutes, most probably, depending on the amount of data on your device. During the scanning process, if you notice that the data you are looking for is present there, then you can click the "Pause" button in order to stop the process.


Step 3: Preview the Scanned Data

The scan will take some time. Once it's completed, you can see a scan result that is generated by the program. The lost and existing data on your device are displayed in categories. In order to filter out the deleted data on your iOS device, there is a need to swipe the option "Only display the deleted items" to ON. By clicking the file type in the left side, you can preview the found data. You can then see there is a search box on the top right of the window. There, you can search for a specific file by typing a keyword in the search box.



Step 4: Recover Data from Your iPhone/iPad/iPod touch

When you find the data you are looking for, you just have to put the check mark in front of the box to select them. And then, click the "Recover" button at the bottom right of the window. By default, the recovered data will be saved to your computer. As for text messages, iMessage, contacts, or notes, when you click Recover, a pop-up will ask you to "Recover to Computer" or "Recover to Device". If you want to put these messages back to your iOS device, click "Recover to Device".


Part II: Recover Data from iTunes Backup

Step 1: Choose Recovery Mode

At first, launch dr.fone and select "Recover from iTunes Backup File" from "Data Recovery" tool. And then, the iTunes backup recovery tool will detect all iTunes backup files on your computer and display them in the specific window. You can then confirm which one you need according to the date it has been created.



Step 2: Scan Data from iTunes Backup File

Next you have to choose the iTunes backup file that contains the data you want to retrieve and then click "Start Scan". This will take a few minutes to extract all data from the iTunes backup file.



Step 3: Preview and Recover Data from iTunes Backup

You will see that after just a few seconds, all the data in the backup file will be extracted and displayed in categories. With this, You can then easily preview them one by one before recovery. After this, you can mark and recover those data you want by pressing the "Recover"button at the bottom. Now notes, contacts and messages can directly be recovered to your iOS device when you keep your iOS device connected with your computer through a USB cable during the recovery process.

Part III: Recover Data from iCloud Backup

Step 1: Choose Recovery Mode

After running dr.fone toolkit, you can choose the recovery mode of "Recover from iCloud Backup Files" from "Data Recovery" on the dashboard. After this, you will see the window below. There you have to enter your iCloud account and password to login.



Step 2: Download iCloud Backup File

In the next step, when you logged into iCloud, the program can find all iCloud backup files in your account. There you will be required to choose the one where you are going to retrieve data and click on the "Download" button.



After this, in the pop-up, you can select the type of files you would like to download. This will reduce the time of downloading the iCloud backup file. Then, you can easily scan the iCloud content. Next, you have to click on the "Scan" button to start the process. This will take you some time.



Step 3: Preview and Recover Data from iCloud Backup File

The process of scanning will be completed in a few minutes. After it stops scanning, you can preview all data in your iCloud backup file such as photos, messages, contacts and more. Now you have to check them one by one and tick the item you want to retrieve. Now click on the "Recover to Computer" or "Recover to your device" button to save them on your computer or your device with one click.


After this, messages, photos, contacts and notes can be directly recovered to your iOS device if your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch is connected with your computer via a USB cable during the recovery process.
